Each One - Teach One Program Review
By: Amy Lake
Reading to your child is more important than you know. My husband Jeff and I have become active in the "Each One-Teach One" program. Although we knew the importance of reading to a child, attending these meetings gave us new ideas and created much excitement for both of us. Our son Collin, who is now 15 months, was read to in Mommy's belly and now everyday since birth. I now find him in his room thumbing through his books and reading aloud. Of course it sounds like "Blee -blah- blee -blah," but to Collin he is reading his book. It was so exciting to see him show interest in his books on his own time. This really made Jeff and me realize that reading to him was definitely important. Not only is reading good for your children, but it is a great bonding time for you and them. Also it is a chance to sit down, relax and enjoy this part of your busy day. Remember, they grow quickly and these are very precious years.
